MCTRON’s MaxxThix® MT-17 is a high viscosity alkali-swellable thickener made with a hydrophobic monomer designed with a temperature sensitive cross-linker that helps build a yield point into a polymer system. Associative alkali-swellable thickeners like MaxxThix® MT-17 are extremely cost effective and provide good to excellent splatter resistance, high shear viscosity and sag resistance. MaxxThix® MT-17 offers fair to good leveling properties and good gloss but only fair viscosity retention, pH insensitivity and poor to fair water resistance as well as insensitivity to other ingredients.
MCTRON’s MaxxThix® AT-25 is an associative non-ionic urethane rheology modifier, designed for formulating a wide range of interior and exterior paints. MaxxThix® AT-25 rheology modifier shows a very good balance of low and high shear viscosity but is dependent on formulations and latex types and allows the formulation of paints meeting a variety of rheological requirements. MaxxThix® AT-25 can be used as a co-thickener in many types of formulations for attaining a desired balance of low and high shear viscosities. It has excellent water and alkali resistance.
