MCTRON’s MaxxBreak OB (oil-based) line of products have long been used in water-based coating formulations. MaxxBreak OB-25 NS has excellent knock-down properties, MaxxBreak OB-946 NS has a very low tendency for “fisheyes”, and MaxxBreak OB-396 NS provides exceptional defoaming performance in acrylic systems. MaxxBreak OE-5 is an organic-emulsion product that is completely silicone-free and also results in “fisheye-free” coatings.
MCTRON’s MaxxBreak Silicone line of defoamers are used in systems where severe foaming is an issue. MaxxBreak SE-030, 020 and 010 products have different concentrations of silicone depending on what’s required for a given application. MaxxBreak SE-46 is a highly concentrated silicone product designed to be diluted in all types of aqueous systems. MaxxBreak SE-46 can be diluted to low solids levels, and then thickened to achieve final product stability using MaxxThix MT-4 alkali-swellable thickener or MaxxThix MT-107 polyacrylate gum thickener. MaxxBreak SYN Series Defoamer Products are non-silicone, oil free products that have long-staying power in a wide range of latex type systems. MaxxBreak SYN-4 NS is designed to provide good optical properties where gloss and transparency or where barrier properties are important in the final application.
