PermaPel® products can be formulated to achieve excellent properties for a wide range of applications. Dry filling is possible using a wide range of pigments and fillers to either enhance performance and/or for cost effectiveness. Small additions of as little as 2% of PermaPel® into a latex formulation has been found to significantly increase the water/wicking resistance as well as wet and dry tensile strength of natural binders and fibers. In addition to improved water/wicking resistance, PermaPel® is very compatible with other latex products to enhance adhesion and strength properties. PermaPel® is also a good candidate to replace wax coatings and has been found to be re-pulpable and recyclable in paper and packaging applications. The use of cross-linking agents with PermaPel®, including non formaldehyde types like MaxxLink® AZC can be effective in improving crock and wet rub resistance and imparting a high degree of wet pick resistance. Additional MCTRON auxiliaries like MaxxSperse® Dispersants, MaxxBreak® Defoamers, MaxxLink® Crosslinkers and MaxxThix® Thickeners can also be useful in developing the best formulation for your application.
